About Us

Misson

ECYDO strives to decrease new HIV infections and Sexually transmitted infections  (STIs), promote Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) education and youth friendly services; alleviate socioeconomic problems of children and young people, and promote environmental protection through awareness creation, training, economic empowerment opportunities, networking and partnership, and promoting and reinforcing community based responses.

Vision

Our vision is to see a safe, clean, and happy environment for every child and youth in Ethiopia to grow in; with access to education, health services, and equal opportunities.

GOAL

ECYDO strives for an Ethiopia with equal opportunities for girls and boys, for an Ethiopia without HIV/AIDS and gender-based violence. ECYDO strives for an Ethiopia where children and young people can develop and live up to their potential, and where nobody is left behind.

Eshet Children and Youth Development Organization (ECYDO) is a pioneering local Civil Society Organization dedicated to transforming the lives of children and youth in Ethiopia. Founded in 2001, ECYDO emerged from a grassroots initiative driven by young volunteers who recognized the urgent need to address the social, economic, and health challenges faced by their peers. We are committed to fostering a safe, clean, and equitable environment where every child and youth can thrive. Through our diverse range of programs, we focus on critical issues such as HIV/AIDS prevention, sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, and environmental sustainability. By aligning with national development policies and collaborating with various stakeholders, we strive to create lasting, positive change and empower future generations to reach their full potential.

Our Mission

Our Vision

Nia Foundation Joy Center for Autism is Founded by Zemi Yenus.  It is an Ethiopian Civil Society
Organization Established in May 2002.

Nia strives to Inspire:- Empower and improve the holistic wellbeing of less privileged children,
youth, and women.

“Nia Foundation aspires to seeing a concerned society whereby less privileged community groups
enjoy quality of life to the best of their potentials in spite of their different abilities, disabilities and
gender”

Our Objectives

To decrease new HIV/AIDS infection and conduct an integrated intervention to minimize the risk of children, young people as well as the community at large from HIV/AIDS

To provide comprehensive information and service provision to children and young people in order to prevent them from sexual and reproductive health related problems

Actively involved in interventions that improved maternal and child health and increased accessibility of Family Planning

To prevent Harmful Traditional Practices (HTP) and gender-based violence impacted on girls and women

To promote men’s engagement and working with boys for gender equality and alleviation of social, economic, and political challenges for girls/women

Prevent young people from drug addiction and provide economic, social, and psychological support for substance-addicted youth.

To involve and partner with all concerned stakeholders on the prevention of social and economic problems of young people, especially youth unemployment.

  • Actively participate in interventions for environmental and natural resource protection.
  • Improve young people's leadership capacity and practice, as well as increase their meaningful participation in all their matters.
  • Enhance the knowledge and practice of children and young people on art, culture, heritage, and science, and assist them in actively participating in these topics.
  • Advocate for the rights of social, political, and economic entitlement of children, youth, and women.
  • Teach children, youth, and women about democracy, rule of law, elections, gender equality, diversity, and increase their active participation in the democratization process of the country. Furthermore, improve their knowledge and skill in tolerance, conflict management, and respect for diversity, dialogue, and discussion.
  • Conduct interventions that benefit the most vulnerable groups, such as persons with disabilities.
